I’ve been working on several different films as of late and although I love what I do, it doesn’t leave much time for writing (I miss you guys!), going to the gym and eating like I should.
Of course, if you’ve ever been on a set you well know that there’s plenty of food around every corner: wonderful catering (hopefully) and craft services. The temptation is strong. Now there’s always the choice to eat healthy with fruit, veggies, smoothies and good snacks BUT this goes the other way too.
Let’s just say that lately I’ve had one too many diet sodas, pastries and pie.
I knew I needed a detox to kickstart my health. A few days off is the perfect time to get back on track. So I came up with this detox drink that made me feel FAB.

Ingredients you’ll need for CTM’s Summer Detox Smoothie:
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 TBS of ginger root
- 1/2 cup kale
- 1 cup green cabbage
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 cup raspberries, strawberries and blueberries
- 1 cup of coconut water (or enough to liquify your blender
Put all ingredients into a blender and mix.
Your finished product should look like this. Looks delicious, huh?
If you like your smoothies icy like me, then use a handful of ice. As mentioned in my earlier posts, I don’t use ice because I always seem to have fruits and veggies in my freezer. Nothing ever spoils in our house because if it’s looking that way, I just chop and freeze for my smoothies and shakes.
For me, it’s a good idea to drink (gulp, guzzle, whatever) about two of these a day.
